day before TG

Let me kow a good time for us to skype tomorrow - We will be eating about 3 PM our time - should be 9 or 10 your time.
Actually, Steve and Ann will be here about noon so call anytime.

TG Prep

I am beginning to prepare TG dinner today and it's only Tuesday.

I am making the cranberry/pear relish and the sweet potato casserole today alone with the pies.  We are cooking the turkey on Wed. and slicing it and reheating it for Thursday - my over is too small to do ever thing on Thursday.  We are having a spinach casserole for a veggie and mashed potatoes.  Carole is making the dressing and Steve is doing pumpkin soup.  I think I'll do olives and maybe some sliced raw veggies.
I am doing a chip and dip thing first.
Then the walk.
Then off to see the light show or if S &A are staying until Saturday we will play our new game WITS AND WAGERS.

Tuesday morning

Hey -
I read where you will find out about your neck this weekend - please let me know what's up.
If you read my last entry you probably are mad at me - but it's the way I think.  Feel free to comment.

 Bob and I have started biking again in the morning - it's cooler (55-60 degrees).  I also joined LA Fitness so I swim 4-6 time a week.  Along with weight watchers I should get some results.  Did Steve tell you he joined weight watchers too?  If not, pleases don't say anything to him but he is doing very well.  He is motivating me.

Steve and Ann are coming for Thanksgiving - I bought a new game to play with them and Carole and Tom.  We tried it the other night and it is really fun.  It's called WITS AND WAGERS.  You would love it.

 Bob's singing group from here is entertaining tonight at a shelter for women - I am going with to take some pictures.

 We have decided to sell our Highlander (Toyota) and buy a second hand Toyota van (Sienna).  We can actually get 23k for our car and it's almost 4 years old with 88k miles on it.  We can buy a van - maybe a 2004 or 5 for under 10k.  Thank goodness our car is paid for.  Buying a Toyota makes good sense to me because we can get 300k miles on it or more.  We need a van for the Bass.  The extra money will go into our rainy day fund which is exhausted at this point.  We are followers of Dave Ramsey (check him out on the web) and believe that this is the way to go.
 
 Not a whole lot is happening around here - We may be going to Mexico in a week or so  to get some dental work done and new glasses.  It's about75% less there than in the states and people really rave about the work they do.  Actually the dentist we are going to lives in Yuma,  AZ and works in Mexico (this holds true only for the border towns) - I don't know how the dentists are the farther into to the country you go.

same old......

I just finished reading facebook and I know why I really dislike it.  I'm sure you'll be upset with me but I need to tell you I am embarrassed for people to see your page especially your kids - I know you are older that most of the people you are with but I would think you should be an example to them.  The 'finger' thing is rude and childish.  Sorry but I get angry whenever I think kids are being hurt - I want to protect them.  I know you are a better person than what is showing up on your page.  I think the young people you are with are influencing you not the other way around.
Sorry if you think I am old fashioned - I am.

Hi - just sent you a link to Patrick Dellis and family blog - it's really cute.  I did forward it to Nic too.
 A nice way to keep up with the extended family.

 I made bread again today - I love the smell and it seems to be much healthier that store bought.
 
Please be careful with you neck - I know you said you would but understand the consequences if you don't.
 

Bob is still learning the computer system for GCU - it's a 3 week program.  I am doing some reading and baking to help pass the time - I am so bored.  I will be finding a job right after the first of the yr.  With PT still 2X a week it's hard to make plans and I don't know Bob's schedule yet as we only have one vehicle.
 
 I am going to join another gym here - the Y is more expensive than I want so I found an LA Fitness for about 1/2 the cost.  I only use the pool and the Y is set up for families etc.
 
 Nothing else new here - I am accumulating stuff for another package.  After talking with you yesterday I have more thing to find.  Should be able to send next week.

I feel guilty that I have not added anything to my posts for awhile - but you took your time adding to yours so.....


I love the description of your roommates - since when did you turn into a neat nick?  I sure remember the way you kept your room when you were  younger.


Bob has been busy learning the computer system at Grand Canyon Christian University - and fixing the faucets in the kitchen sink - he has music stuff a couple of nights a week so I an looking for things to do when he's gone.  So far I discovered I love being alone so I can read or whatever but then I like him coming home.

 Did you get the article that dad sent about (can't remember his name) the cop with the kids that babysit for you guys?  I sure remember when it happened and how sad, I hate to see the guy get out.

I am not in prison ministry - never will be.

 Boy, Nic sure is has found her niche.  She does things so well and has such a handle on things.  Sure admire that gal.

 30 credits is awesome - sounds like you have your work cut out for you.

Paula's birthday is next week and she will be 50 - how does that sound?  Be sure and wish her HB.
